BANGKOK, 3 November 2010 (NNT)-The Ministries of Science and Technology and Interior are forging a plan aimed at solving drought and flood problems through advanced technology.
The two ministries have already inked an agreement to develop a strategy for Thailand in handling flood and drought problems which have plagued the country for decades. The agreement is aimed at the promoting of information and technology exchange as well as the sharing of satellite photos between the two.
They will also jointly develop geo-technology which allows them to better manage water resources, both in the provincial and local levels, and to develop skills of Thai workers enabling them to apply such technology effectively.
The Interior Ministry has also said that the cooperation will make the relief and rehabilitation programs more effective, better-coordinated, and less time-consuming.
